Zip Lining/Canopy Tours

Imaging standing hundreds of feet up on a platform in the jungle canopy overlooking the ocean – you have just watched your partner launch herself off the platform and sail at incredible speed the length of a football field on a zip line and disappear though an opening in the thick jungle foliage… as your guide turns smiling saying “Your turn!”

Flying through the jungle hanging in a harness attached to a zip line is one of the most high energy experiences you can have. Costa Rica’s famous zip-line tours are rated as the best in the world for are length, speed, height and excitement.

Volcano Adventure

Arenal Volcano, the #1 tourist attraction in Costa Rica is one of the most active volcanoes of all Central America. Its last major eruption was in 1968, but is continuously active and sometimes explosive activity. You can watch lava oozing down from the summit, and often witness explosions as lava boulders spew out and cascade down the classic, perfect conical shaped volcano.

You can book guided hikes around the volcano, and visit the observatory. Make sure if you are staying overnight to book a hotel room with a view of the volcano to watch the nighttime volcanic fireworks. While you are there visit the hot springs resorts of Baldi and Tabacon in nearby town La Fortuna, where you can enjoy numerous pools, hot springs, ponds and waterfalls in a stunning tropical garden setting.

Shooting the White Water Rapids

Whether you’re a novice or a world-class rafter, Costa Rica’s has a white water river to fit your abilities. The rivers can rise and fall quickly with the rainfall, but in the dry season there is plenty of fantastic excitement to be had on this adventure tour.

The Pacuare River offers some of the best white-water rafting and is incredibility scenic. If you are a beginner with river rafting, Class II and III rivers will give you plenty to remember. Consider the Reventazón, Sarapiquí, Peñas Blancas, and Savegre rivers as they offer a range of rapid classes, including plenty of Class IV and V sections to shoot.
