- Go to the places that offer activities for kids. You might want to look into staying at beach towns like Tamarindo, Jaco and Manuel Antonio. These areas are not only more developed to meet a tourists’ needs, but they also offer a variety of rental options to keep the kids busy. Join in with them on a kayak tour, estuary tour, take a surf lesson or ride a bicycle around town.
- Visit Manuel Antonio National Park. It has well-marked trails, abundant wildlife, a jungle and a beautiful beach. A walk or boat ride through Manuel Antonio National Park will guarantee you a monkey sighting. On the way, stop at the bridge over Tarcoles River and see all the crocodiles in their natural habitat.
- Make sure to use sunscreen and have it always in your backpack. You don’t want a sunburn on your holidays. Make sure to apply sunscreen early and often, especially when you’re in the central mountains.
- Be prepared. Pack a raincoat or light jacket, a hat and bug repellent.
